After we descended from the mountains there wasn't a whole lot to see until we reached Wall Drug. Those of you who have never driven across the western United States are probably wondering "Why on earth would you stop at a drug store in the middle of nowhere?" Those of you who have driven I-90 will likely respond with an emphatic, "YES! Wall Drug!" Maybe it's the awesome billboards, maybe it's the promise of 5 cent coffee, maybe it's just that there's nothing else to do within a hundred-mile radius, but Wall Drug is a quintessential American institution. Located in the town of Wall, South Dakota, this drug store sells anything you can imagine. What's most amazing is that the place is absolutely packed with literally hundreds of customers. Look at Wall, SD on a map and you'll understand how crazy that is.

The rest of the trip was pretty uneventful. One thing I am always reminded of when I drive across the Great Plains is how much hard work it takes from the farmers and ranchers of the United States to feed us all.
